21 January Reflection Quote

"Our preferential love for the poor must be accompanied by a clear, concrete witness lived in and as community, which will speak of our solidarity with them." Helen McLaughlin, Feast of the Sacred Heart, 1987.

Giving those who suffer disadvantage or exclusion a special place in our hearts must also find external expression. We must show our love in tangible ways.

– how would others know that we have a special concern for the disadvantaged and excluded?
– what does “solidarity” mean to you?
– do we express our preferential love for the poor together, or do we actually leave this to individual action?
