Advent Lament for Asylum Seekers

As part of the Catholic Religious Australia Justice Network, the Society of the Sacred Heart is supporting a National Lament Week of Prayer & Prophetic Witness during the first week of Advent – 30 November to 6 December.  This week of prayer is an opportunity to be in prayerful solidarity with the people seeking asylum in Australia and with the people being detained in Australia and off-shore, many the victims of harsh and punitive policies. On 31 August 2014 we will celebrate the 100th Migrant & Refugee Sunday. The kit produced for this occasion by the Australian Catholic Migrant & Refugee Office includes a theological reflection on the Holy Family in exile by our Province Director of Mission, Sandie Cornish.
