28 November Reflection Quote

"The mystery of God prolongs itself in the mystery of the pain of humanity wounded by injustice and division", Helen McLaughin, Meeting of New Provincials, March 1987.

Injustice and division in the world can lead us to wonder about the existence of a good God. It can also remind us that God’s ways are beyond our comprehension.

Reflecting on Helen McLaughlin’s words,we can ask ourselves:
– are we comfortable with a mysterious God, or would we really rather have God all worked out?
– do we experience the pain of injustice and division as mysterious, or do we think that we have the solutions?
– where do we see Jesus being crucified today?

I love these November comments — food for thought and prayer! And I am glad that God is greater than any understanding I can have of the Mystery.
