Digital Edition tells the Madeleine Sophie Barat Story

Mary Shanahan RSCJ and Kylie Swanson tell the St Madeleine Sophie Barat story.  In this concise and engaging introduction, titled Sophie’s Story, they show that the founder of the Society of the Sacred Heart is not just a figure from the past, but a woman for today.

Originally published in 2007 for the celebration of 125 years of the presence of the Society of the Sacred Heart in Australia, this digital edition is made available to celebrate 135 years of the Society’s presence in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Here are some reflection questions that may be useful for those reading Sophie’s Story in the wake of the appalling terror attacks on Sophie’s homeland:

Thanks Anne. It should be possible on your computer or e-reader to increase the size of the font or of the display. If you are viewing the online version at issuuu there is a magnifying glass icon with a + sign on it at the bottom of the screen that you can use.
