Mabel Digby RSCJ

11 February Reflection Quote

"Let us give our life to God drop by drop in each little duty." - Mabel Digby to a Superior, 1895, in Anne Pollen: Mother Mabel Digby, ch xxviii

A decision to give our lives to God is not a big, heroic, once-off event. It is a decision made and remade daily. We can choose to draw near to the Heart of God in all the small decisions that we make. – can you recall big and small moments of decision to give your life to God? – as your life unfolds, are you aware of giving yourself to God in different ways? – when has someone else’s small action revealed God’s love to you?

29 November Reflection Quote

"Give me the weakest will, give me a reed but fill it with perfect trust in God and it will suceed." Mabel Digby, in Margaret Williams: The Society of the Sacred Heart in the Far East 1908 - 1980.

Sometimes we act as though success in our ministries depends on willpower and our own efforts. We risk becoming willful rather than being in tune with the will of God. – How might we nurture our trust in God? – What do we think success looks like? – Can vulnerability, weakness and trust connect us with the open Heart of God?
