Who We Are
The Society of the Sacred Heart Australia New Zealand Province is part of an international congregation of Catholic religious women, known as the Religious of the Sacred Heart or RSCJ. .
The Society was founded in France in 1800 by Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat. The first RSCJ arrived in New Zealand in 1880 and in Australia in 1882. Read more about the foundation of the Society of the Sacred Heart Australia New Zealand Province.

The Society of the Sacred Heart is now present in 43 countries around the world.
What We Do
Our mission is to discover and make known the love of God in the world. We do this through: teaching and formation; human development and justice; and pastoral ministry and guidance in the faith.
Our Spirituality
Our charism is wholly contemplative and wholly active. Our action is grounded in the contemplation of the heart of God in the world.
